President, CEO & Founder

Ed Pratt is a musician, vocalist, producer, and concert audio specialist from Salt Lake City, UT. Ed came up through the 60's and 70's era of the singer-songwriter and developed his musical tastes and skills with influences from artists like Peter Paul & Mary, Bob Dylan, James Taylor, The Eagles, Linda Ronstadt, Jackson Brown, and Kenny Loggings. He would also be influenced by jazz greats such as Dave Brubeck, Stan Getz, Peggy Lee, Dizzy Gillespie and many more. Ed studied music at the University of Utah Jazz Studies program in the early 1970's and further expanded his musical horizons to include some of the great jazz artists of earlier eras and studied classical guitar. During the late 70's and early 80's  Ed spent much of his time working in the studios as a recording engineer, record producer, studio musician and vocalist and did several commercials for radio and TV. Ed also opened for several concerts with headliner artists like The Beach Boys, Chicago, Bruce Hornsby, Natalie Cole, The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, and Bonnie Raitt.

Ed’s interest in audio came through his own experience as a performer. He learned to put together good sound systems for his own club use and for larger audiences as well. After a few request to rent that equipment, Ed saw an opportunity and opened his own business as the owner of Pratt Sound, which has been providing concert sound services for shows, festivals, and conventions in the western United States for the last 45 years.
